The Italian National Team met to get ready for the 2021 Olympicsnine months before the Olympic Games will start.

Right after the 2020 Italian Softball Series, Italian head coach Enrico Obletter named twenty-five Italian athletes to join him at a training camp in Pescara, Italy, from October 12 to 18.

The twenty-five athletes called:
Bettinsoli Valeria, Bigatton Laura, Brandi Priscilla, Cacciamani Ilaria, Cecchetti Elisa, Cecchetti Greta, Cecchetti Lara, Chiodaroli Marta, Comar Veronica, Edwards Sarah, Fabbian Sofia, Fama Amanda, Filler Andrea, Gasparotto Marta, Giacometti Noemi, Longhi Giulia, Mambelli Virginia, Marrone Fabrizia, Nicolini Alice, Ricchi Beatrice, Rotondo Alessandra, Salis Carlotta, Sheldon Melany, Torre  Silvia, and Vigna Laura.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, what was supposed to be the Olympic year for the Italian senior softball National Team turned into another year of waiting for the Tokyo Olympic Games

The Italian National Team stopped the preparation for the Olympics in February in the process to leave for Barcelona to play the first friendly tests of the year after the Australia Pacific Cup.
