Swiss Softball celebrates Jody Fischer as the first female softball player to receive a scholarship in the USA.
The 21-year-old Swiss player Jody Fischer is the first Swiss softball player to receive a scholarship to play softball at a US college.
From January 2021, Jody Fischer will play in Iowa, USA, at the Southeastern Women's Softball College. The junior college team plays in the top division NJCAA (National Junior College AA) Division 1.
Jody plays in the U22 and in the Swiss Softball Elite National Team.
She recently became Swiss Champion for the third time in a row with the Zurich Barracudas (The Swiss National Champion is Zurich Barracudas).
Before that, she was allowed to become Junior CH Champion twice with the Rümlang Kobras, the junior organization of the Barracudas.
