On January 25, 2021, Softball Europe President Gabriel Waage sent a letter to National Federations. The goal of the communication is to clarify the possibility to withdraw from Softball Europe 2021 events.

Following the official communication of the entries to Softball Europe 2021 events, some National Federations requested that Softball Europe would review the policy regarding the deadline of withdrawal from SE competitions without any future fines or punishment.

"I fully understand the concerns of those NFs, as all European countries have the same worries. We are living in an unpredictable world, where there is only one certainty – nothing is sure." Gabriel Waage states, "but we would like to provide a positive signal to all of Softball Europe countries that we strongly believe we will be able to play international events as planned.".

Softball Europe will not change its policy for this reason and the technical aspect: the technical staff needs time for the appointments of umpires, game schedules, etc. As always, the process will start on February 1 and the regular withdrawal is admitted until January 31.

Softball Europe President Gabriel Waage reassured European Softball leaders: no fine or punishment will be enforced in case of late withdrawals due to the consequences of the pandemic situation.
