U-12 Mix and the U-23 Men's Qualifiers won't be played in 2021
Softball Europe cancels two of its scheduled events for 2021: the U-12 Mix Qualifier and the U-23 Men's Qualifier.
The U-12 Mix Qualifier and the U-23 Men's Qualifier won't take place in 2021, a year filled with scheduled events for Softball Europe.
The U-12 Mix European Championship was supposed to be played in April as a qualifier for the WBSC U-12 Mix World Cup in Taiwan. Softball Europe board decided not to involve this young age category at the beginning of the season.
The U-23 Men's European Championship was scheduled July 12 to 17 in Havlíčkův Brod, Czech Republic, adjacent to the U18 and U16 MECh. The event was serving as a qualifier for the 2022 WBSC U-23 Men's Softball World Cup. The first-ever U-23 Men's European Championship in 2022 will be the qualifying event for the World Cup, and will be played in Sezimovo Usti, Czech Republic.
Despite these two cancellations, Softball Europe President Gabriel Waage reassures the community: "Our main goal for the 2021 season is to reinstall international softball all over Europe.".
