New competitions for 2016 established
On September 17th, Gabriel Waage, ESF 1st vice president and the head of Technicial and Competition Committee, has announced new competitions for the upcoming season.
A topic that has been discussed for a number of times during EC meetings, or ESF Congress - new official competitions. Last year, the European Super Cup Junior Women was held for the first time. For the next season, ESF Executive Council has approved another two official competitions. "European Championship Men’s Slowpitch and European Softball Masters complete the offer of ESF Competitions starting from next year," said Gabriel Waage.
European Championship Men's Slowpitch
ESF has only had two slowpitch competitions so far - Championship and Super Cup, both played in the Co-ed category. This competition brings a new dimension to European slowpitch. We believe that you can expect even more competitive and definitely more tight games from EChMS tournaments. We are curious already to find out how will the Brits do in this slowpitch tournament. European Men's Slowpitch Champions will be awarded in 2016 for the first time and then every other year. The dates for this competition will be set for May or June. European Softball Masters
There are many development-based tournaments within the ESF competitions portfolio. The time has come to also come up with a competition for the experienced players. ESM is a comeptition for men and women over 35 years old. Number of entering teams per one National Federation is not limited and if you're interested in participating in this competition, you don't need to worry about player licences. Find the complete information about the ESM here.
