From the 20th until the 25th of August, three different European Cups are being played in Europe: the Women's European Premiere Cup (XLI) in Forli (Italy), the Women's European Winners Cup (XXVII) in Capelle a.d. IJssel (the Netherlands) and the Women's European Cup (XXV) in La Loggia (Italy).

During the Premiere Cup, National Champions from the top 10 (qualified) European countries compete for the title of the Club European Champion 2018. This year we have nine club teams, from eight different countries (Italy has two participants since they are the host country). Since the first tournament in 1978, the title has mostly gone to the Italian or Dutch teams except in 2009 and 2013 where they were won by an Austrian and Czech team. Since there are no newcomers this year, every team knows what the taste is like. Will last year's winner, Bussolengo (ITA), be able to defend their title or will one of the other teams go home with the gold medal?

At the Winners Cup, National Cup winners compete for the European Cup. The number of teams is limited to one team per country (plus the defending champion and the host). This year's edition will have 12 teams from 11 different countries. Since the first tournament in 1992, the title has been traveling to several countries. The last two editions, it was Olympia Haarlem who took home the gold medal. Since they advanced to the Premiere Cup now, it's time for someone else to take the title again. This year, we may welcome two newcomers to this edition: Euro Stars (NED, organizer) and Titans (BOT).

At the European Cup, National Champions not-qualified to the Premiere Cup are competing for the first place in the Women's European Cup to qualify for the Premiere Cup for the next season. This year's edition consists of nine teams from nine different countries. In the past 24 editions, the title has been traveling to a different team almost every year. Seven out of nine teams are participating for the first time in this edition, which will make it an interesting one: Witches Asko Linz (AUT), Amager Vikings (DEN), The Mix (GBR), La Loggia (ITA), ISA NZ (New Zealand), Hrabiny Wroclaw (POL) and Fenix Valencia (ESP).
